Introduction
This 42' Grand Banks Europa is in excellent condition and has been professionally maintained by her owner with an open check book. She was ordered by David Marlow from Marlow Marine with no expense spared in any area of this fine yacht and made her debut in xxxx at the Miami boat show. As found in all Grand Banks yachts the interior is a blend of handcrafted teak joinery and elegant accents not to mention her custom helm station cabinetry and dining table. Excellent vistas are provided from the large windows in the salon and galley giving one a very spacious feeling while aboard. The cockpit has plenty of room for deck chairs and offers protection from the bridge overhang. Access to the spacious fly bridge which has plenty of room for dinghy storage is made easy by stairs instead of a ladder. Docking and mooring is simple with easy access provided fore and aft by her walk around decks. She has the preferred two stateroom two head layout with a center line queen in the owners stateroom and two berths in the guest stateroom. She is powered by twin dependable Caterpillar xxxx 420 HP that make her a very versatile cruising Yacht with speeds from 6-21 knots. Many new upgrades include Wesmar stabilizers and bow thruster to mention a couple and please see full specs for the rest. She has much to offer her new owners from the traditional quality of a true legend to all the comforts of home. She is a must to see if you are looking for a true turnkey 42' Grand Banks and is awaiting the change of command.
Vessel Walkthrough and Accommodations
Starting in the bow of this fine yacht is a square island queen bed with abundant storage through custom cabinets drawers & and a hanging locker. Private access is provided for the owner to the head with stall shower. Guest cabin has two berths with access to the guest head via the hall. Moving aft and up the stairs the galley is L-shaped to port with Corian counters and overhead dish lockers. Two modern 12/110V refrigerators as well as top loading cold plate freezer offer plenty of cold food storage. She has a large stainless steel sink and a three burner flat surface stove with a microwave/convection oven in lieu of standard oven. The helm seat and primary navigation station are starboard opposite the galley. There is a bar aft of the helmsman's seat w/liquor storage. Glass storage and an ice maker are hidden underneath. The salon is where the Europa concept takes off. From the windshield at the helm all the way out to the hand rail at the transom the Europa is single level living: like a great-room popular in modern architecture but decorated in the most traditional yachting fashion. The double French sliding teak doors aft open wide to create an open room where someone working in the galley can not only communicate with but make eye contact with another person reading a book out on the covered aft cockpit deck. The salon proper has a club-like feel w/an L-shaped settee to port and two swivelarm chairs to starboard. The cockpit is covered by a roof as are the extra wide side decks. Do not underestimate the advantage of this covered aft deck. Whether to get relief from the sun or from bad weather a EUROPA owner always has abundant outdoor space to relax. Walking up the stairs to the bridge is not only easy but a joy rarely afforded in yachting. As you enter the fly bridge deck from below you will find a very spacious area for entertaining with beautiful views as well as more seating and another fully equipped helm station to navigate from. To some things up she is the epitome of modern design used as a tool to create generous easy space in the most traditional of settings.
