Introduction
The Bertram 390 is a beautifully finished offshore battlewagon. Her 18 degree deadrise gives her the offshore performance and her yacht quality high gloss cherry interior is a real pleasure back at the dock. Her gel coat is in very good condition having been professionally maintained. A recent survey is available.
Vessel Walkthrough
The interior of the vessel is of much higher quality than usually found on a boat of this size. The high gloss finish on the cherry cabinetry is beautiful. The salon door is off center to starboard; the salon has an L shaped sofa to port and an L shaped dinette to starboard. Two steps down is a well equipped galley. Two steps down from the galley is the head with stall shower to port and guest stateroom to starboard. The master stateroom is forward with an island double berth. There are flush mounted overhead lights throughout.
Main Salon
To port in the salon is a large L shaped sofa with storage areas beneath the cushions. Starboard aft is the entertainment center with a Phillips TV and Sony DVD player. Below is cherry cabinetry with storage and the 120/240/12/24 volt breaker panels. Forward starboard is an L shaped dinette and more storage cabinets. There are cherry wood blinds and the sole is carpeted. On the starboard side is an overhead rod locker.
Galley
The U shaped galley is down two steps from the salon which separates it from the entertainment area but allows those in the galley to remain a part of the activities. The counters and cabinetry are very nicely done and the molded in sink is deep and functional. There is a two burner cook top under counter Norcold refrigerator with freezer a microwave drawers and cabinets for storage. The galley sole is finished in wood.
Head
The head compartment has a vanity sink mirrored cabinets and overhead electric head and a separate stall shower. An overhead hatch provides light and ventilation. There is a door to the head in the passageway and the master stateroom.
Master Stateroom
The master stateroom is forward in the boat and has a large island double berth. There are reading lights at the head of the bunk and a double door hanging locker to starboard. To port is an entertainment center with a Phillips TV and Sony DVD player. There is storage beneath the bunk and in cabinets. A large overhead hatch lets in ample light or can be darkened with its sunshade.
Guest Stateroom
The guest stateroom has two single berths with a cabinet between at the head of the bunks and a hanging locker across from the stateroom door. Extra storage is provided by shelving.
Deck
The Bertram is well laid out in the cockpit for fishing and cruising. The cockpit freezer sink and engine room access are to port of the salon door and there is a cushion on top of the units for comfortable seating for several people. The freezer is lined with stainless steel the cockpit sink has salt and fresh water with cutting board and the engine room passageway has built in storage for Plano style tackle boxes. There is a grab rail outside of the salon door for safe entry to the cabin in a seaway. The side decks are wide and the aluminum bow rail extends well aft for easy access to the bow. The anchor pulpit and chain locker are forward and the nonskid decks are in great condition. Fishing features include a stand up live well to starboard of the salon door a transom fish box a removable in deck fish box Pipe Welders double spreader outriggers and a chair. The Scopinich fighting chair has a total of 6 rod holders plus the flip up gimbal. It has seat and back cushions. She has salt and fresh water wash downs dockside water hook up concealed outrigger halyard cleats 2 cockpit deck lights 2 cockpit overhead lights 4 flush mounted rod holders cockpit coming bolsters transom door and under gunnel gaff storage. A soft pack life raft is included for those long offshore runs or Bahamas trips.
Electronics And Helm
The boat has a very well proportioned half tower with a fiberglass hardtop. The top has flush mounted overhead lights and two built in spreader lights. There are 12 and 24 volt breakers inside the helm for the bridge service. Her electronics include a Furuno FCV 1100L color LCD sounder Furuno NavNet plotter/radar Uniden ES VHF radio and ACR EPIRB. There are 5 rail mounted rod holders on the bridge railing a Danforth Constellation High Speed Compass 2 Pompanette helm chairs 3 sided enclosure helm cover helm recessed foot rest Volvo electronic controls trim tabs engine gauges alarm system and fuel gauge. There is L shaped seating forward of the helm with cushions.
Electical
There are 4 different cockpit outlets for various fishing gear. She has an electronic fuel fill monitor a Glendenning Cablemaster for the 50 amp power cable cable TV and phone hookups and shore power main breakers in the cockpit and battery switches in the engine room. The four 8D batteries were replaced in 2009 with sealed gel cell batteries. The generator has its own battery. The Sentry battery charger and two Vanner Voltmaster 60 amp battery equalizers are in the engine room. She has bonding straps on the shafts and a Quicksilver galvanic isolator. The Kohler generator has 2970 hours. The water heater is a Seaward 11 gallon stainless steel unit.
Engine Details and Mechanical Equipment
Access to the engine room is from the cockpit. The boat is powered by Volvo Penta TAMD 75 P-A High Performance diesels at 480 horsepower each with about 1700 hours.
