Introduction
BUSTIN LOOSE has benefited from two major upgrades and looks like she is only a few years old. Repowered including generator new tower and bow rail and her open check book preventive maintenance program makes her an extraordinary vessel. She is one of the few boats with a complete maintenance log and original Hatteras owners manuals. The full Imron paint job East Coast style bow rail and an awesome offshore ride rivals any modern high quality boat in her class. Cruise at a low 2200 RPM for only one gallon per mile at 26 knots. Battleship construction modern classic.
Vessel Walkthrough
The interior of the 32 Hatteras Express and Flybridge models are the same so the Express model provides all of the creature comforts offered on the Flybridge version. Access to the anchor chain locker is all the way forward followed by the V-berth. The V-berth is large and comfortable enough for cruising and weekending. Hatteras has made the best use of space below with drawer storage under and aft of the berth as well as a hanging locker to starboard. The cabin space is heated and air conditioned. There is an opening hatch over the V-berth and four opening ports with screens.
Main Salon
To starboard aft of the hanging locker and V-berth is a convertible dinette that seats four comfortably and converts to sleep two. Ample drawer and locker storage is found below and outboard of the dinette. The breaker panel is located behind a Plexiglas slide outboard of the dinette. The enclosed stand up head aft of the galley is large for a vessel under 35. The fiberglass gel coated inner liner makes it easy to clean. There is ample storage in the well designed head area which is equipped with an electric head shower and sink.
Galley
To port aft of the drawer storage and V-berth is the functional galley. There is an electric two burner flush mounted cooktop with stainless steel cover that looks like it has never been used. Aft of the cooktop is a stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water. Under and outboard of the counter space is abundant storage. A Sharp Carousel microwave oven is built in above and outboard of the counter. The 12/120 volt under counter refrigerator/freezer was replaced 12/08.
Deck
BUSTIN LOOSE benefits from a major upgrade in 2008 which gives her the modern look and fishing efficiency of a new boat. She received her new tower bow rails and Rupp outriggers at that time. To complete the upgrade not only was the enclosure replaced which still looks new today but all of the tempered windshield glass was also replaced. Broker's Remarks
Some Caterpillar 3116 engines were manufactured with foreign components but the 1995 Cats in the BUSTIN LOOSE are All American and should run an easy 8000 to 10000 hours with a reasonable maintenance program. She is a heavy boat providing a very comfortable ride offshore but her prop pockets allow for less draft and better performance due decreased shaft angle. Vessels bottom was stripped and barrier coated in 2001 and no blisters were present then or now. She was Imroned in 2001 and still shines like new.
